TIM J. SPARROW VIOLIN REPAIRS

Sparrow Violins is based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire and is the business of luthier Tim J. Sparrow, who trained at The Newark School of Violin Making, Restoration and Repair.

TIM

After graduation from Newark in 2012, Tim spent 3 years as repairer for Evans Pughe Strings of Hitchin (sadly no longer in business) and a further 4 years as strings specialist with Cambridge Pianoforte.

Tim is an accomplished English folk fiddle player and regularly performs as a member of the highly acclaimed ceilidh band Frog on a Bike at functions and festivals up and down the country. This is one of very few ceilidh bands to feature a Hardanger Fiddle amoungst it's instrumentation. In addtion to this, Tim is also a Morris dancer and main musician for Cambridge based Cotswold side Granta Blue Morris. As such, he understands the needs of the folk musician and what they like in an instrument.

Tim is available to inspect and advise on instruments from Cambridge Pianoforte on Kings Hedges Rd, Cambridge, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 14:00 - 17:30. Please make an appointment in advance of your visit.
