Christina Alex A

Christina Alden & Alex Patterson are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters from East Anglia. Their music is rich with intertwining harmony, sensitive accomplished musicianship and a creative song-writing style that is both delicate and moving. Deeply inspired by the world around them, they have a keen environmental eye to craft stories with the natural world at its heart, reflecting on the relationship between humans and the wild.

They have toured extensively in the UK and Europe, including a twenty-three-date concert hall tour with Show of Hands (including Union Chapel and St David’s Hall Cardiff), a show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Celtic Connections, headline and main stage performances at some of the UK’s most prestigious folk festivals and performances in Norway, Belgium, France and Ireland.

They launched their first duo EP The Fox Song with a stunning performance on the Broad Roots stage at Folkeast in 2019 and during the lockdowns they recorded their debut duo album, Hunter, which was released in spring 2021 to universally ecstatic reviews. They have now written and self-released five albums, composed music for a BBC Radio 4 documentary series and have had over a million streams on Spotify.

They have also published their first Songbook – a wonderful collection of original and traditional songs with full lyrics, chord charts, notes about the stories behind the songs and beautiful illustrations throughout by Christina.

Their second duo album “Safe Travels”, released in 2025, received glowing reviews across the Media and lots of airplay across BBC Radio and was listed as one of the year's top 30 albums of in Shindig! Magazine.

This will be their fourth headlining appearance as a duo at the Canopy Theatre.
